Many of our clients have asked us to develop
tailored, shared Internet access for their companies. Our existing
solutions reside in businesses that had existing Novell Netware,
Windows NT, Windows peer-to-peer and UNIX-based LANs. In the cases
where a LAN was not present, we helped each company to select the
appropriate hardware and network architecture that was right for
its needs and budget, and implemented the LAN. Next, for each business,
we implemented an appropriate hardware and/or software infrastructure
to support secure, shared Internet access without compromising
their existing LAN applications. Each completed project allowed
any number of workstations on the LAN to access the Internet for
e-mail, web browsing, file downloads, etc. via a single dial-up
or DSL/cable Internet connection. Since access was integrated into
the LAN itself, Internet access at each workstation is seamless,
e.g., open your web browser or e-mail client and the Internet access
is automatically provided. The result in each case was a fully
Internet-enabled business whose only recurring costs were those
of a single Internet access account and as many e-mail accounts
as they needed.
